“ITOE, Advanced Topics” is an intensive study of Rand’s theory of knowledge covering the later material in Ayn Rand’s Introduction to Objectivist Epistemology: Leonard Peikoff’s essay “The Analytic-Synthetic Dichotomy” and the Appendix to the second edition. (The 200-page Appendix consists of excerpts from three of the four “Workshops on Objectivist Epistemology,” that Rand conducted in 1969 -1971.) The course is a continuation of Dr. Binswanger’s course “ITOE” but may be taken independently of that course. This is an intermediate to advanced course (“300 level”) and presupposes successful completion of at least two other philosophy courses, which may include “ITOE”.
Prerequisites: To enroll in this course students must have completed an Objectivism Seminar course. Dr. Binswanger’s course “ITOE” is strongly recommended but not required.

Apply to be a Graded Student
Graded students in this course are expected to attend lectures and discussion sections, and also to submit assignments to the faculty. Assignments will be graded and given feedback.
To enter this course as a graded student, you must be accepted into the graded program of Ayn Rand University and achieve the necessary prerequisites. Your annual tuition covers as many courses as you wish to take. Most accepted students are granted scholarships, which substantially defray their tuition cost.
