In his article, Krauss argues that philosophical speculations about what exists have not lead to any deep insights into the nature of nature. He concludes that philosophy of science is – at best – useless. Does Kraus have a point? To what extent should philosophy be offering views about what exists?
Laplane et al. give three examples of a putative positive influence of philosophy on scientific practice. Pick *one* of the examples. Try to give a general description of the contribution philosophy is taken to have made to the science in the example. (For example, is philosophy offering content to the theory of stem cells? Is philosophy offering methodological guidance to cognitive science? Or something else?)
This response will be reviewed and graded after submission.
