      There is no writing assignment for the first class. There is however a reading assignment, included on the first handout, which is posted under Week 1. You should also take a look at the syllabus, if you haven’t already, posted under General Info. Finally—and this is completely optional—if you could send me an email (robert.mayhew@shu.edu) telling me something about your intellectual interests and your background in philosophy and allied fields (what sorts of courses you’ve taken), I would appreciate it.
